Functions

The Mystery/Apple Snail is an invertebrate which means it has no backbone.  It is classified in a group of animals called Mollusks. These kinds of animals have a soft body and a hard shell.

The Mystery  Snail's unique structures perform many functions.  The snail has a radula.  which is used for eating.  Another structure is the tentacles.  The snail uses them to sense, feel, and to find food.  The snail's eyes are on top of the two tentacles.  They are used to see, although, the snail doesn't have very good eyesight.  They also have gills or lungs to breath.  The snail uses a "muscular foot" to move around and hold onto plants.  Like all snails, they have a shell to protect themselves.
